Coenzyme-Q 10: A Vital Substance For Healthy Lifestyle

It is a fat-soluble substance, which resembles a vitamin . CoQ10, is an extremely important nutrient that every cell in your body must have in order to produce energy.  Coenzyme q10 is most concentrated in the mitochondria of cells, where energy is produced, and is most abundant in the heart.

‘The other name for this vitamin like substance is ubiquinone (active form), a term that reflects the fact that it is found in nearly every cell in the body .’

Uses of coenzyme Q 10

As an antioxidant it protects cells from the effects of aging. Coenzyme q10 is also helpful to prevention and treatment of complication & symptoms both:-

  • As An Energy Booster :

To sustain enough energy to perform bodily functions, inside our cells tiny organelles called mitochondria take fat and other nutrients and turn them into use able sources of energy. This conversion process requires the presence of coq10.

‘In fact, coenzyme Q 10 has a role in 95 percent of the energy generated by the body.’

  • Absorption of other nutrients:

As a “coenzyme,” coq10 also helps other enzymes work to digest food properly. As a powerful antioxidant, coq10 can increase absorption of other essential nutrients. It’s been shown that it helps recycle vitamin c and vitamin e, further maximizing the effects of vitamins and antioxidants that are already at work in the body.

  • Allergies and asthma:

As a potent antioxidant it has ability to interfere with histamine, a substance that causes symptoms of asthma and other respiratory conditions.

  • Alzheimer’s disease:

Co Q10 helps transport oxygen to the cells and improves brain function.

  • Cardiovascular problems:

CoQ10 is helping protect the heart and blood vessels from the damaging effects of oxidative stress. It helps prevent the accumulation of fatty acids. Several small studies have found coenzyme q10 to be effective and safe in the treatment of angina.

  • Promotes fertility:

It helps to improve both male and female fertility rate. Found in every cell of the body, coq10 is a part of the electron transport chain which is responsible for generating energy in our cells. Functioning as an antioxidant, it decreases the damaging effects of free radicals on the reproductive system.

  • Cancer:

CoQ10’s ability to improve immune response and its ability to decrease the cardio toxicity caused by a common class of anti-cancer chemotherapeutic agents.it inhibits the information of free radicals, unstable oxygen molecules that can damage the cells and cause cancer.

  • Diabetes:

CoQ10 assists in carbohydrate metabolism. It also plays a role in maintaining blood glucose.

  • High blood pressure:

CoQ10 may help lower both systolic and diastolic (the top and bottom numbers) blood pressure.

Deficiency:

Low levels of coenzyme q10 are often seen in people who have heart problems, aids, gingivitis, and in the elderly. Coenzyme q10 is used to treat people in all these populations as well as those with yeast infections, allergies, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and liver problems, as well as obesity, alzheimer’s disease, and muscular dystrophy.
